Decorative Painting
Decorative
painting is a diverse art form utilizing a variety of techniques and media
to decorate functional and non-functional surfaces. Tole painting is
the general term historically used to describe decorative painting on tin
surfaces, but today we paint on any surface including wood, glass, fabric
and tin.
On
June 18, 2001, eight members of the Society of Decorative Painters met in
Springfield, Oregon, to form the Coast to the Cascades Chapter of the
Society of Decorative Painters. Any member who joined during the
first year is considered a "Charter" member. The Chapter meets on the Second
Saturday of each month. Click on the month in the contents bar for
details of each meeting.
Our membership covers a large area
between the Oregon Coast and the Cascade Mountain Range.
Because of this large area, we have chosen to rotate our place of
meetings each month between the Coast and the I-5 Corridor.
We
hope you'll "Paint
with Us"
at our next meeting
