 SATURDAY

Daisies & Lace Prep Instructions

Palette (FolkArt):   Plaid will provide the paint for the project, except for the background color which needs to be painted before class. I will have some available on Friday for those who may need some.

Background color is Italian Sage.

Brushes:

½-inch & ¾ inch angle

Assortment of different size filberts

Scharff Series 3000 Fine Line Kolinsky #4

I will have brushes available for purchase. However, if you do not have the Scharff Fine Line, please bring your favorite liners.

Surface: I painted the original design on a 7-inch square box and the pattern fits perfectly. The round design is about 6-inches across.
Other Supplies: Gray Palette Paper

White Transfer Paper

White Factis Eraser

I will have palette paper and erasers available for purchase.

Wood Surface Prep: Sand surface before applying wood sealer. I use J.W. Etc.’s sealer as it does penetrate the wood. When sealer is dry, lightly sand. Basecoat with 2-3 coats of Plaid Folkart Italian Sage.  Sand lightly between each coat of color. When the final coat is totally dry, sand very lightly with Super Film.

When applying background color on a flat surface, I use a long-handled, 4-inch, dense foam roller. This gives a nice eggshell finish to paint on.

MDF Prep: There is no need to seal an MDF surface. Wipe surface clean with a micro-fiber cloth and paint.

There is no pattern to transfer prior to class.

SUNDAY

French Parasol Cover Prep Instructions

Palette (FolkArt):   Plaid will provide the paint for the project, except for the background color which needs to be painted before class.

I used FolkArt Greenscape as my background color. Any opaque dark color will work. Please bring your background color with to class.

Brushes: Scharff Series 3000 Kolinsky Sable Fine Line #4

I will have brushes available for purchase. However, if you do not have the Scharff Fine Line, please bring your favorite liners.

Surface: The original shallow bowl is 16-inches across and is actually too big for the design. The design is almost 11-inches across.

Viking Woodcrafts (1-800-328-3895) has a 12-inch (item #20-10595) and a14-inch (item #20-10733) shallow bowl that would fit the pattern perfectly. However, the design works well on any flat surface.

Other Supplies: Gray Palette Paper

Black Factis Eraser

Low Tack Blue Painters Tape

White and Dark Transfer Paper (do not use Chacopaper)

I will have palette paper and erasers available for purchase.
