Greens Show -   2008

December 5, 6, & 7

Salem Oregon - Oregon State Fairgrounds

Now is the time to start planning on selling some of your items.

What is the Greens Show all about you ask?  Well, keep

reading and you will find out.  Contact Linda Ware for more Info!

WHO - This show is put on by the Willamette Valley Christmas Association -a group of garden clubs selling fresh greenery as fund raisers- thus the ‘ Greens’ Show. They also have a delightful display of decorated trees as well as door and table decorations that will inspire you.

WHAT - A craft show with a long history. Multi generational participation. Ladies take Friday, the first day of the show off from work - an annual event. People pay to park and an entrance fee- they are serious shoppers! (This is a juried show, which means the vendors and product must go before a ‘jury’ to make sure quality is up to par. I have been juried and accepted as the coordinator of our group. I am then responsible to make sure that all items in our booth are acceptable - not as scary as it sounds!)

WHEN - Friday - December 5, 2008

                  Saturday -  December 6, 2008

                  Sunday -  December 7, 2008

          Hours - 10 am  -  6pm

WHERE - The Jack man Long building at the State Fairgrounds. This is where we demonstrate during the State Fair in August. We should be in the same spot we have been in for the past 3 years.

HOW - As a chapter member and painter, simply paint items that you would like to sell. Attach price tags (provided by chapter). Fill out an inventory sheet, deliver or drop off your painted work prior to the show. You do not have to work during the show, but we would love it if you would like to see how this show is run. At the close of the event, your unsold items are inventoried, packed up and made available at the Christmas Party- along with your money.

The booth space costs us $695.00 and we try to have enough vendors (people selling) to make up that cost. The vendor fee is the money you pay to be in the show. This fee is based on the dollar amount of the inventory you have entered into the show. A sliding scale is set up on this amount. The lowest fee is $15.00 for any inventory under $100.00 and the highest fee is $50.00 for any inventory over$500.00.We have had over 20 vendors and over 12,000 dollars in inventory in the past. If you break down the vendor fee, the lowest being 15.00 and the highest at 50.00, it costs between 5.00 and 16.66 a day to have your work on display before thousands of people. You need not be present to earn!
