Treasurer's report

Beginning Balance: $11,298.24

Income:                   $  4,911.10

Expenses:               $  2,735.44

Ending Balance:     $ 13,373.90

 

President Report:

Board meeting for August, September, and October will be immediately after we finish painting tonight. Board will not meet again until November. It will be a long day and night for Board members.

 

Nominating Committee

 Jo Langan, Chair – Katy Didier, and Claudelle Lyall

Election for Board members will be at November meeting.

Installment of Board members at December meeting

 

State Fair:

Friday August 24 is our demo day.  Need members to sign up to demo and talk about our chapter. Times are 9-12 (to help set up), 12-3, 3-6, 6-9 (help clean up).  Please to e-mail Judi Mecham if you can help out it a lot of fun. Plus you get in free to fair. There are 45 entries for Decorative Painting this year.

 

1st Vice President:

September meeting is Teresa Kuchler.  Teresa will be touting the good things about Traditions paints and give the members a chance to paint a small project using the paints.  This will be in Coburg. 

 

October - Our 1st Annual Retreat with Ginger Edwards.  The last $50.00 payment is due today for Ginger Edwards.  The last $25.00 will be due at the Retreat.  This will be at Turner.

 

November- UFO and painting cans for Green Show.  This will be in Coburg.

 

Linda ask a show of hands how many members would like to have a stenciling class  - all hands went up.  Margie Crawford has given Linda a name of a business from Eugene who would like to set up a stenciling class.  Linda will get in touch with them now that she knows the chapter would like a stencil class.

 

2nd President: not present – no report.

 

Ways and Means:

Claudelle has our new chapter t-shirts cost is $15.00  sizes are medium, large, x-large, 1X, 2X, 3X. Some of the suitcases are finished but still have some to finish.  We need them done soon!  Judy Peterson will taken pictures today of the suitcases that are finished so she can get started on printing out tickets.  Raffle tickets will be $1.00.

 

Wedsite/WebNews:

Only 10 members found the dog on Website – Jo was the winner and won a Dwarf plant holder.  Next month look for a schoolhouse.

 

Greenshow:

Lori Larkey stated that there are 14 members so far signed up.  Fee is as low as $15.00 and the highest you would pay is $50.00.  At last years show, a radio station broadcasted from there.  Dates are Nov 31, Dec 1, and Dec 2 – always the first weekend in December.  Setup is on Nov 30 you can drop off items at 2:00 pm on Thursday or bring to November meeting.

 

Bring all your painted cans for Greens Show to November meeting so we can price, stuff with tissue paper, and bag.

 

Raffle and Sunshine:

Jo was way to tired to even remember who had August Birthday – but she did send out cards.  Poor Jo had been at a seminar all week enjoying a seminar on Rosemaling with Bjorg.

 

Memory Boxes:

Linda said chapter had 8 memory boxes turned in last month - none we send out because she has to have at least 20 before she can mail to anyone.

 

Points:

Members remember to wear your name tags, bring refreshments, etc to earn points.

 

Awards:

Judi Mecham is the winner of the Star Award for August for all the hard work she has done for the chapter.

 

Historian:

Sam gave birth to a baby girl Abbey.  She is busy but would love to keep doing her job as Historian.

 

Show and Tell:

Robin showed her paintings.

Jo, Linda and Lori showed their seminar creations they did last week.

 

Program:

UFO and Lori Larkey demo how to paint Zhostovo  to get us ready for the Misha seminar in September.
