General meeting minutes for
Lori Larkey, President, called the meeting to order at
Margie Crawford moved to accept the minutes for the April 2008 general meeting as written. Pam Robinson seconded the motion. Members voted unanimously to accept the minutes.
Cindy Ferguson, First Vice President, encouraged members coming to the July meeting to confirm their beds at Laura’s place. Memory Boxes will be the theme. Sharon Donati, Lori Larkey, and Karen Hubbard will be teaching box designs. Sharon Donati will be teaching in August. Cindy is busy planning for the 2009 year seminar and meeting schedule.
Robin Gardner, Treasurer, gave her report for May:
Beginning balance: $9,056.69
Total deposits for May: 1,950.00
Total expenses for May: 1,792.82
Ending balance for May: 9,213.87.
Margie Crawford, Second Vice President, reported one guest,
Nancy Key, from
Judi Mecham, Webmaster, announced that this was her last
meeting to give away a website prize.
Out of nine entrants, Marge Simons won the $25.00 gift certificate for
Michael’s. Judi let us know that there
had been a trailer fire involving the Decorative Arts Collection with
subsequent damage. The Traditions Class
sponsored by the Chapter, begins on June
Marge Simons donated a painted tray for the person who brought the most memory boxes. Faye Hart won with 13 boxes.
Jo Langan awarded the Star Award to Sharon Donati for contributing so much to the Chapter as a fairly new member.
The State Fair will be accepting projects soon. Judi Mecham and Lori Larkey suggested that members get their projects ready and look on the State Fair website for specifics.
The Green Show will be in December as usual. Lori reminded everyone that they can make money for their 2009 seminars by selling art at this event. Also, she encouraged everyone to paint cans for the Chapter.
