March 2008 - KILZ Pastel Spray!

I would like to tell you about a product that was shown to me by Marge Simons - this product is KILZ- in a pastel spray!

This is a wonderful product because it is so opaque and it is pastel- not stark chalky white. This is what Marge has used on many of the memory boxes she has been painting lately.

I found this in the clearance section of the Wal-Mart here in Eugene for a little over $3.00 a can.  I just went out and sprayed 2 round memory boxes with KILZ Casual Colors, Satin finish, Ultra Premium spray paint. I chose a color called ALAMEDA – a nice neutral taupe/tan color. The paint went on like a dream! I had a few hairs stand up off the paper that may very well lie back down, or I can lightly sand before I apply a second coat. The paint has a light citrus like smell to mask the usual spray paint odor- YOU STILL NEED TO COVER YOUR NOSE AND MOUTH! Another great feature is the spray button is large and comfortable and you spray at any angle! No need to keep the can straight up and down! They recommend two light coats a few minutes apart and the object should be dry to the touch in 1 hour. Refer to the instructions on the back of the can.
